Two Potential Ways of Vanadium Extraction from Thin Film Steelmaking Slags

During the steelmaking process, a great amount of slag is generated as by-product. Vanadium-bearing slags are classified hazardous and require special handling storage due to toxicity vanadium pentoxides. At same time, such valuable sources for recovery vanadium. The present work reviews investigations on from CaO-SiO2-FeO-V2O5 thin film under neutral oxidizing conditions in temperature range 1653 K 1693 (1380 °C 1420 °C) using Single Hot Thermocouple Technique (SHTT). samples were analyzed by SEM/EDX. results indicated that pentoxide evaporation can be up 17.73% an atmosphere, while spinel formation argon atmosphere was detected slags.
